Barnard Briarwood, the previous Duke, was as cruel and tyrannical as King Harold himself, imprisoning countless souls in labour camps. Amidst the rebellion, Charlie, once a devoted follower of Barnard, had turned against him, trying to smuggle some prisoners out of these camps. However, this only led him to be imprisoned for his defiance. When Atlan and his rebellion reached its way to the Labour camps to weaken the tyrant King Harold’s forces, Charlie requested Atlan’s permission to challenge Barnard in single combat.
